Free 7-day project forecast for any U.S. ZIP code

Is it a good day for your outdoor project?

Get a go/no-go forecast for staining a deck, painting, pouring concrete, sealing a driveway, spraying weeds, and more. It’s built from the hourly National Weather Service forecast and checks the rain, dew, and cold after you finish.

Enter a ZIP code or use your location to see the next 7 days.

How it works

  1. Hourly forecast for your spot. We pull the National Weather Service forecast grid for your ZIP code or location.
  2. Project-specific rules. Each project has its own limits for temperature, humidity, dew point, wind, rain before and after, and overnight lows.
  3. The best window, with reasons. Every day gets a Good / Maybe / No verdict, the best time to work, and exactly what could go wrong.

Why a regular weather app isn’t enough

A sunny 72°F afternoon looks perfect, but it can be a terrible day to stain a deck if rain moves in overnight, or to paint siding if dew forms at 6 PM. A mild, breezy, dry day can crack a concrete slab. A calm, cool evening can send weed killer drifting into your garden. The weather that matters most is often the weather after you put the brush down, so that’s what this tool checks.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the forecast data come from?

Every forecast comes from the hourly gridded forecast of the U.S. National Weather Service (NOAA) for your exact location, the same data behind weather.gov. It updates throughout the day.

How is this different from a normal weather app?

A weather app tells you the weather. Good Project Day tells you whether that weather works for a specific job. It checks the hours after you finish too: overnight lows, dew, and rain that would ruin fresh stain, paint, sealer, or concrete.

How accurate is it?

It is only as accurate as the forecast, which is very good for the next 1–3 days and less certain after that. Treat days 4–7 as planning guidance, check again the day before, and always follow the product label.

Is it free?

Yes. The tool is free to use with no sign-up. We are supported by ads and affiliate links.
